Karen (Ryles) Carr - 

Area Director for the Coastal Plains Fellowship of Christian Athletes Area

Karen joined FCA in 2016 after working for Optim Healthcare as an Athletic Trainer. Her main focuses within FCA are the Campus Ministry, Student Leadership, and FCA Women’s Ministry. She is passionate about using her gifts and talents to see the Name of Jesus elevated through the platform of athletics. Karen is a graduate of Georgia Southern University where she majored in Kinesiology. In addition to her work with FCA, Karen is a personal trainer at Snap Fitness and enjoys working out, coffee, and good conversation.  Karen and her husband Brad are expecting their first child in spring of 2019.

Tom Joyner - 

Georgia Regional International Coordinator with focus to Brazil and Coastal Plains Area Missionary

Tom stepped out of the corporate world in 2007 where he had worked for 18-1/2 years with Rohrer Corporation to go into full time missionary ministry with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He served 9 years with East Cobb FCA in Marietta, GA before transferring in 2016 to South Georgia to serve with Coastal Plains FCA. Married 32 years to Lisa Tway Joyner. They met while in school at Georgia Southern and married in Statesboro. He has three daughters, 3 grandchildren. Two daughters graduated from GS. He likes to hunt, fish and play golf but mostly enjoys sharing about God’s love. He and Lisa are members of Southbridge Community Church.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Tim 3:16-17)

We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19)

We believe in the deity of Christ (John 1:1), in His virgin birth (Matt 1:18), in His sinless life (Heb 4:15), in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (Heb 9:15-22), in His bodily resurrection (1 Cor 15:1-8), in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:9-11) and in His personal return in power and glory (Heb 9:27-28)

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men (women), regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (John 3:16, John 5:24, Titus 3:3-7)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (John 14:15-26, John 16:5-16, Eph 1:13-14)

 We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (Matt 25:31-46, 1 Thess 4:13-18)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Phil 2:1-4)
